Same was advertised in an Avoyelles Parish newspaper, The Village. Sheriff G.P. Voorhies proceeded to the residence of James M. O'Neal on Bayou Boeuf. Henry Keller was the purchaser of 44 acres for $670. It being bounded on the north by land of J.M. O'Neal and on the west by Bayou Boeuf. Page 282 14 February 1854 - Sale of Plantation on Bayou Boeuf - Succession of Martha Hargrove, deceased wife of Jacob G. Keller, deceased. Property now belonging to their minor heirs. Advertised in The Village. Sheriff Adolphe D. Coco proceeded to the last residence of the decendants. Terms of this sale; anything requiring the writing of notes (promissary) are to be made payable to Matthew Vernon, Tutor to said minors and deposited at the office of Joseph P. Waddill in the Town of Marksville. Estate also consisted of a number of slaves, whose valued was shown to be $56,571. Landed property shown had a total of 1492.98 acres. 240 acres of which, being a cypress swamp is held in-common with W.B. & W.M. Prescott, who became the purchasers of the land, which contained a "considerable dwelling", a sugar house with apparatus, negro cabins and outhouses.
