Loftin, 86, of DeRidder, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He worked for General Gas and Amoco Oil Co. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a deacon and member of Pine Ridge Baptist of DeRidder. Survivors include two sons, Richard H. Loftin of Sulphur and Billy E. Loftin of Lake Charles; two daughters, Agatha Smith of Leesville, and Velma Gail Stoneburner of Ludowici, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. January 6, 2000 Beaton E. Bond, 92, of DeRidder died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Pitkin and a longtime resident of the DeRidder area. He worked in construction as a pipefitter and welder. He was a retired pipefitter and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 198 of Baton Rouge and a former member of Masonic Lodge of Baton Rouge. Edwards of Texas City, Texas; three daughters, Alma Wardle and Johnnie Maul, both of DeRidder, and Helen Hoffpauir of Sulphur; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Burial will be in Beauregard Cemetery under direction of Hixson Bros., DeRidder. Zebeau, 80, of DeRidder died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in Our Lady of the Lake. He was born and raised in DeRidder. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II and served as chief controller in data processing for 37 years at Fort Polk. Survivors include his wife, Franca C. She was a native of Dry Creek and was longtime resident of DeRidder. She was the former owner and operator of Greens Flowers and Gifts in DeRidder. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a charter member and former secretary and board member of the Beauregard Country Club and past president of the Ladies Golf Association. In 1990 she was a member of the winning team of the American Cancer Society's National Golf Championship at Doral Country Club in Miami. During her family's 28 years in the U.S. Air Force she held leadership positions in numerous Officer's Wives Clubs. Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Pope Sr. of DeRidder; two sons, Fred W. September 27, 2000 Ray Young DERIDDER - Services for Ray Young will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Myers-Colonial with the Rev. George Glass officiating. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery. Young, 90, of DeRidder died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Sugartown and a lifelong resident of the DeRidder and Sugartown area. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church of DeRidder and retired from Crosby Chemical in 1972 with 20 years services. He was a member of Sam Todd Masonic Lodge. Survivors include two sons, Tommy Young of Pineville and Jimmy Cooper of DeRidder; one daughter, Cathy Cameron of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Elsie Iles of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. November 17, 2000 Jay B. Miller REEVES - Services for Jay B. Miller will be at 2 p.m. today in Reeves Bible Church with the Revs. Glenn Ducharme, Ricky Gallien, and George Lee Glass officiating. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery under direction of Hixson, DeRidder. Miller, 83, of Dry Creek died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, in Dry Creek. He was a native and lifelong resident of Dry Creek and a graduate of Dry Creek High School. He was a forestry major at L.S.U., and he served in the U.S. Army during World War II with military training in anti-aircraft. He was a retired self-employed farmer, and he served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and song leader for a number of years at the First Congregational Church in Dry Creek. He also served on the Board of Regents for the Bible Conferences and Missions at Camp Pearl. He served as a counselor at Camp Pearl. He was a Charter Board Member of the Dry Creek Cemetery Association and a member of Reeves Bible Church. Survivors include his wife, Corine Green Miller of Dry Creek; one son, Wade Miller of DeRidder; two daughters, Ann Golden of Willow Park, Texas, and Juanita Brumley of DeRidder; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. December 31, 2000 Bobbie Richard DERIDDER - Services for Bobbie Faye "Tot" Townson Richard will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, in the chapel of Beauregard-Vernon, with Charles Boswell officiating. Burial will be in Beauregard Cemetery. Richard, 55, of Rosepine, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000 in Byrd Regional Hospital, Leesville. She was a civil service military pay specialist for 32 years. Survivors include her husband, Mike Richard of Rosepine; two daughters, Jeannette Richard Orr of Fort Polk; and Aimee Richard of Rosepine; four brothers, Douglas Clifton Townson Jr. of Waston, William Harvey Townson of Florien, John David Townson of Pine Grove and Rodney Keith Townson of Amite; one sister, Linda Townson Young of Alexandria.
