The Revs. Henry Bowdon and James Humphreys will officiate. Burial will be in Creel Cemetery. Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Cole died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, in a local hospital. A native of Reeves, he was a member of a pioneer Allen Parish family. He had lived in Lake Charles from more than 60 years. He was a 50-year member of the Carpenter's and Pile Driver's Local 953. He was a member of St. Luke-Simpson United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and a lay Methodist missionary and was a member of the St. Luke Simpson's Men's Club. He was a member of the Ouiska Chitto Methodist Retreat Center for more than 28 years and served on its committee for a number of years. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Randall (Marjorie) Dickerson of Lake Charles; two stepsons, Harold Escott of Phoenix, Ariz., and Fred Escott of Yukon, Okla.; one stepdaughter, Doris Trisler of Roland, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
