LCAP 7/2/1997 DeRidder Funeral services for Charles Ellsworth Tanner, 87, of San Ramon, Calif., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, in Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home. The Rev. Albert Tanner will officiate. Burial will be in Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine. Visitation will be from 3-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m; Thursday. Mr. Tanner died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 1997, in San Ramon. A native of Evangeline, he had lived in Silsbee and Houston, Texas, and the Vernon Parish area before moving to San Ramon 12 years ago. He was a carpenter and had been active in Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Cub Master and Scout Master, and was District Scouter of the Year for the Three Rivers Council in Silsbee in 1984. He was a life member and former Ranger of the Louisiana Lions Children's Camp in Leesville and was named Golden Staff Member at the Louisiana Lions Camp in 1983. Survivors are one son, Carlos Dean Tanner of San Ramon; two brothers, Rollie Lynn Tanner of Shreveport and Albert Gene Tanner of North Carolina; one sister, Odessa Mae Sembera of Cleburne, Texas; three grand; children; and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America of the Louisiana Children's Camp in Leesville (through a local Lions Club), the family said. TERRY, Charles R. A native of Anacoco, he was in the U.S. Army and served in World War II. A heavy equipment operator for Civil Service at Fort Polk for 20 years, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 27, and the International Union of Operating Engineers. Survivors are one son, Steven Floyd Tilley of Rosepine; two daughters, Janie Sue Harris and Jenny Kay James, both of Rosepine; three sisters, Emily Parker of DeRidder, Ruby Culbreath of Rosepine, and Helen Salisbury of Sulphur; and five grandchildren. Survivors are his wife, Mary Watson; one daughter, Mae Lynn Beek of Flatonia, Texas; two sons, James L. Watson of Lake Charles and John A. Watson of Sulphur; and seven grandchildren. She and her husband also owned John's Body Shop there. She was a member of Columbus Avenue United Methodist Church and Ohio Car Coddlers and Remember Cruisin' clubs. Survivors are her husband; one son, Robert Dwayne White; one daughter, Renee Neyman, all of Sandusky; two sisters, Blanche H. Harrison of Pasadena, Texas, and Sammie Jo Perkins of DeRidder; her mother, Helen S. Miller of Dry Creek; and one grandchild.
