She was Children's Director for 20 years at First Baptist Church in DeRidder and for 10 years in Rosepine. She taught Sunday School and was an active member of Providence Baptist Church. She was a member of Beauregard Professional Women's club where she served as president during the 1950s. During her years as a charter member of the Beauregard Cow Bells, she served as vice-president, secretary, committee chairperson and treasurer. She worked with her husband for 35 years at Bailey Motor Company. Upon retiring they moved to Rosepine. Survivors include her husband, L. B. Bailey; one son, Lionel W. He retired as a Command Sergeant Major from the U.S. Army and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam and Korean wars. He was a Ham Radio operator. Survivors include his wife, Doris Brown; three sons, Charles L. Brown of Leggett, Calif., Gary Brown of Jacksonville, Fla., and Steven Brown of Leesville; one daughter, Delores Spears of Pineville; his father, Carl Brown of Fayetteville, Ark.; and three grandchildren. Burial will be in New Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Homee. Mrs. Ford died Sunday, July 26, 1998, in the DeRidder hospital. FOUNTAIN, Ray L. LCAP 2/15/1998 DeRidder--Funeral services for Ray L. Fountain, 67, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, in Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. The Rev. George L. Glass, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Beauregard Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 p.m. today. Mr. Fountain died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, in the DeRidder hospital. A native of Merryville, he was a welder. Survivors include two daughters, Alice Faye Fountain of DeRidder and Mary Grace Carter of Dayton, Texas; two sons, Curtis Ray Fountain of Hackberry and Gary Lynn Fountain of New York; five sisters, Margaret Hardy and Johnny DuBose, both of Leesville, Faye Kattawar of Beaumont, Josephine Engalls and Velma McDonald, both of Vidor; five brothers, Jessie Richard Fountain of DeRidder, J.W. Fountain of Beaumont, Gus Fountain of Houston, Roy Fountain and Billy Fountain, both of Newton, Texas; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. FRANKS, Alma, Mrs. LCAP 5/4/1998 Merryville--Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Franks, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 4, in Green Oaks Baptist Church. The Revs. Jim Miers and Jerry Chaddick will officiate. Burial will be in Bivens Cemetery under direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 8-10 a.m. today in the funeral home and from 10 a.m. in the church. Mrs. Franks died at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 1998, in a Merryville care center. A native of Merryville, she attended Normal College in Natchitoches, and later McNeese in Lake Charles. She taught for Merryville Elementary for a number of years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers' Association and Green Oaks Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Billy Ray Franks of DeQuincy; two daughters, Mrs. DeCarma Hieronymus Perkins and Jimmy Lou Buxton, both of Merryville; seven grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.
