Cleveland Fruge'. ------------------------------- Robert Turner Farr, District Judge, Fourth Judicial District, Division "C", took his oath of office on April 10, 1968. Judge Farr was born on June 1, 1922, at Monroe, Louisiana, the son of R. Dean Farr (deceased), a former Clerk of Court of the Fourth Judicial District of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, from 1937 - 1960, and the former Birdie Harmon, of Monroe, Louisiana. The Judge graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe in 1939, received his B.S. degree from Louisiana State University in 1943, and his LL.B. degree from the same University in 1949. Judge Farr engaged in the practice of law in Monroe, Louisiana, from 1949 through 1968. During the years 1954-55 he served as law clerk to Judge Ben C. Dawkins, Sr., on temporary duty U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. He is married to the former Betty Jean Taylor of Arcadia, Louisiana, and they are the parents of three sons: James, Douglas, and Paul. Judge Farr served in the United States Army from September 16, 1943, until January 16, 1946, when he was discharged as a Master Sergeant. He served in the southwest Pacific area, the Philippine Islands, and Japan. He is a member of the American Bar Association, American Judicature Society, Louisiana State Bar Association (House of Delegates, 1960-1961; Board of Governors, 1964-1966); Fourth Judicial District Bar Association (Secretary-Treasurer, 1949-1958; Executive Committee, 1956-1968); L.B. Faulk Post No. 13, American Legion; Downtown Monroe Lions Club; former member Monroe Junior Chamber of Commerce. Judge Farr is a member of the Memorial Methodist Church, Monroe, Louisiana (President, Board of Trustees; church school teacher; certified lay speaker).
