Discharge Certificate
Edward Carter Army Serial No. 2,861,461 a Private 1 cl of Company B, Three 
Hundred Twenty Seventh Service Battalion, United States Army who was inducted 
on the thirtieth day of April one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, at 
Arcadia, Louisiana to serve for the period of the emergency was honorably 
discharged from the service of the United States on the nineteenth day of July 
one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, by reason of demoblization.  Served in 
France, Sailed from U.S. July 10, 1918, Arrived at port on return to U.S. July 
5, 1919, Character given on discharge Excellent, Verified by NPRC Awards are 
the WORLD WAR 1 Victory Medal, WORLD WAR 1 Victory Button (Silver)

Additional Comments:
Edward Carter grew up and had family in Colfax, La, He later resided in 
Georgetown, La with his wife Lelar Bonner Carter and four children, two boys 
and two girls until moving his family to Winnfield, La in 1965, He passed away 
in 1975 and is buried in Veterans Cemetary in Alexandria.
