FRYBURG, LA - Services for Joy Rowell, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. 
Sunday, August 20, 2000, at Rockett Funeral Home Chapel, Ringgold LA.  
Officiating will be Rev. Jack Byrd.  Interment will be in Little Hope Cemetery, Castor, 
LA.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 19, 2000, from 10 a.m. until 
10 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rowell passed away Friday, August 18, 2000.  She was born January 
6, 1922 in Bienville Parish, LA, and was a resident of Fryburg, LA.  Mrs. 
Rowell was a member of Fryburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Boyd Rowell of Fryburg, LA; son, Reggie 
Rowell and his wife, Evelyn of New Iberia, LA; daughters, Agnes Hay of 
Fryburg, LA, Priscilla Hughes of Garland, TX, Brenda Rowell of Fryburg, LA, Linda 
Rowell of Fryburg, LA; brothers, Dera Bates, of Fryburg, LA, Van Bates of Sibley, 
LA, Tellie Bates of Plantation, Florida; sisters, Marcie Weaver of Arcadia, 
LA, Earline Poland of Lucky, LA; grandchildren Tammy Hill, Danny Hay, Ricky 
Hay, Billy Rowell, Roy Hughes, and Anthony Hughes; 10 great-grandchildren.  

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Joy BATES ROWELL was the daughter of Oscar Wilson & Robie Lee BATES.  
She married Boyd ROWELL on 5 Dec 1939, Bienville Parish LA.
