D. Pace, 83, native of Louisiana and resident of Shreveport for nearly 50 years, were held Thursday, 10 a.m. in Shreveport with the Rev. F. M. Freeman, pastor of Noel Memoral Methodis[sic]Church, officiating. Interment was in the Arcadia, La., cemetery. Mrs. Pace died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mattie Plilar, 2620 Highland ave. Mrs. Pace and her husbaid[sic]were born in Louisiana and resided in Winnfield before going to Shreveport. They are well known here where they have visited their daughter, Mrs. C. B. Cole, quite often. On Nov. 1, 1943, Mr. and Mrs. Pace celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary at their home. Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Plilar, Mrs. Ann Lou Cole of Winnfield and Mrs. Beatrice Berlin of Marksville; one sister, Mrs. Emma Field of Arcadia; 20 grandchildren, five of whom are in service, and 16 great- grandchildren. Additional Comments: Mrs. J. D. Pace was born Elizabeth "Lizzie" Henry in 1861 to James Dyer Henry and Katherine Madden Henry of Claiborne Parish. She married Jefferson Davis Pace, born 18 Mar 1861 in Arcadia, on 1 November 1879 in Union Parish, LA.
