Murphy Bienville, Dies Friday, March 10 Mrs. Janie Day Murphy, 80, of Bienville died Friday March 10, in Minden, after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Bienville Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Bentley Masingill, officiating. Burial was in the Camp Ground Cemetery under the direction of Conger Funeral Home of Arcadia. Survivors include three sons, Fred Day of Bienville; Louis Day and Charlie Day of Minden; three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Bishop of Minden, Mrs. Della Hasty of Delhi and Mrs. Jack Murphy of Bienville; two brothers, Wilson Rowell and Nelson Rowell of Bienville; one sister, Mrs. Mollie Mathews of Castor; 28 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were were Alton Toms, Elon Toms, Grady Williams, William D. Whitley, Homer Chandler, and Shelby Martin. Additional Comments: Janie was married three times: John Wesley DAY, P. H. "Pack" ALEXANDER, and Woodford MURPHY. Her parents were Lewis Edward ROWELL & Martha Ann "Mattie" PERSON ROWELL.
