Miss Jessie Shaffer

Minden - Mrs. Jessie M. Shaffer, 84, a resident of Gibsland for the past 52 years 
died Friday in Arcadia Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Funeral services will be 
held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the First United Pentecostal Church in Gibsland.  The 
Rev. H. B. Ward will officiate.

Burial will be in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of the First 
National Funeral Home of Minden.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, James Paul Shaffer of Minden, 
Jessie M. Shaffer, Jr. of Springhill and John Wilson Shaffer of Cayce, S. C.;
five daughters, Mrs. Estelle Sanders of Shreveport, Mrs Velma Blackwell of 
Ruston, Mrs. Mae Pace of Cullen, Mrs. Sadie Chandler of Gibsland, Mrs. 
Cecil Kilpatrick of Arcadia; three brothers, Stacy Ouzts of Hodges, S.C., 
Eldred Ouzts and Luther Ouzts both of Greenwood, S.C., 23 grandchildren, 
48 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
