Pat Rovell officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana. The family will be receiving guests from the hours of 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2009 at Centuries Funeral Home, Mrs. Greening was a native of Arcadia, LA and lived in Shreveport, LA for sixty-nine years where she was a member of the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. Mildred's family was her greatest joy in life, devoting herself as a full time wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known as "Mimi" to her three grandchildren, and "Aunt Mildred" by family. Mimi was a faithful woman of God and believed in HIS promise of eternal salvation. She enjoyed traveling to Branson every year and tending to her flowers at home. Mrs. Greening was preceded in death by her son, John "Dalton" Greening, Jr; parents, Earnest and Myrtis Welch; a brother, "Sonny" Welch; niece, Maylynne Welch; and one great nephew, Robert Addison. Left to cherish her memory and tell her stories will be her husband, John D. Greening, of 45 years; a daughter, Penny Richardson and husband Ricky of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, and Cailey of Shreveport, LA; a brother, Robert Welch of Jacksonville, FL; a nephew, Charles Welch and his wife Kellie and their family of Maryland, and a niece Melissa Welch Hall and husband Mike of Shreveport, LA along with many other family members touched by her life including cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Acting as pallbearers will be Howard George, Dave Vosbury, Billy Walker, Maurice Regan, Carl Hoeft, and Danny Richardson.
