Notice the Methodist Church in background. On porch: George Cecil Sutton Sr., Dixie Sutton, Willie Palmer Sutton, and G.W. Sutton. According to his grandson Bill Sutton (now deceased), G.W. purchased this house in Sparta, LA, near the town of Bienville. Sparta was the original parish (county) seat of Bienville Parish until the courthouse records were stolen during the night and moved to Arcadia. Sparta no longer exists. This house was cut into sections and moved to Bienville on wagons where it was reassembled. The house no longer exists. G.W. also owned a 2-story house in Bienville that burned down in the 1930’s.
