The STATE OF LOUISIANA
PARISH OF BIENVILLE

To REV. Z. THOMAS or to any minister of the Gospel or Justice of the Peace 
authorized to celebrate marriage within the Parish of Bienville, GREETING. You 
are hereby authorized and empowered to celebrate marriage between MR. JAMES F. 
PIERSON and MISS AMANDA J. THOMAS, both residents of said Parish and State to 
form them together in Holy Wedlock according to law. And of your doings herein 
return make to our said office at Sparta 
         Given under my hand and seal of the District Court this 23th day of 
November, A.D. 1865

   In pursuance of the foregoing license, I have celebrated marriage between 
MR. JAMES F. PIERSON and MISS A.J. THOMAS, according to law. In Testimony 
whereof I have caused the parties together with me  to sign their names hereto 
in presence of the attesting witnesses on this the 23rd day of Novemeber, 
A.D., 1865.
