One Killed, Three Hurt in Automobile Accident

Mrs. Mollie Keeth, of Plain Dealing, widow of the lamented James P. Keeth, was 
perhaps instantly killed in an automobile accidnet that occurred about 10:30 
o'clock this monring, near Vanceville. Her son-in-law, Mr. Frank Collins, of 
Antrim, who was driving the car, was also badly injured and his son was 
probably fatally injured, his face being cut on both sides and all of his 
teeth knocked out. Little Mary Collins, Mr. Frank Collins daughter was 
dangerously injured, but how badly is not known at this writing.

The accident was caused, it seems, by Mr. Collins attempting to pass a truck, 
which in some manner crowded the car off the grade, causing it to turn over 
twice in rolling down a high embankment, and it may be true that Mrs. Keeth 
was drowned, as she was pinned underneath the seven passenger car in a pool of 
water.

Just how badly hurt the others were had not been ascertained up to the time 
the Banner went to press.

Mrs. Keeth was about sixty years of age. Her husband, James P. Keeth, during 
his life was a well and favorably known merchant of Plain Dealing. Her father 
was the late Maj. Davidson and her brother-in-law, Rev. John C. Keeth, was 
shot and killed near Plain Dealing last fall. All were prominent residents of 
the parish.

The remains were taken to Shreveport, and the injured conveyed to a sanitarium 
in that city for treatment.
