-Thomas Bounds, 79, Parish Native Died, July 22-
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Blanchard Bounds, 79, of Rocky Mount,
were held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the Bailey Mortuary Chapel
in Springhill. Officiaing was Rev. Stanford Parnell, and burial was in
Springhill Cemetery.
He died Sunday, July 22, in Bossier City, after a long illness. Mr.
Bounds, a native and life long resident of this area, was a member of
the Rocky Mount Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of the State
Highway Department.
Mr. Bounds is survived by his wife, Myrtle Stewart Bounds of Rocky
Mount; two sons: W.C. Bounds of Plain Dealing and Robert Bounds of
Garland, Texas. Three daughters: Hazel Russell of Springhill, Tommie
Rich of Lafayette, La. & Ruby Wise of Cotton Valley. Two brothers: Henry
D. Bounds Jr. of Plain Dealing and Ben Bounds of Bossier City. Three
sisters: Bertha Kirkland & Ida Compton, both of Shreveport & Mrs. Mae
Alderman of Texas; 18 Grand-children and 13 Great Grandchildren.
