All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Prominent Bossier Parish Resident Dies: Mrs. Lillian Stinson Carter, 82, of Benton, a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish, died Thursday at 7:45 a.m. at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Bossier City after a lengthy illness, and funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late Cornelia Annette Woodruff and T. W. W. Stinson. She was the widow of W. W. Carter, Sr., who was mayor of Benton for a number of years. She attended Randolph-Macon College in Virginia and was a member of the Benton Methodist Church. Mrs. Carter is survived by two sons, W. W. Carter, Jr., and E. L. Carter, both of Benton; two daughters, Mrs. Annette Carter Glover of Bossier City and Mrs. Irma Carter Bailey of Shreveport; a brother, D. H. Stinson of Benton; and a sister, Mrs. Irma Stinson Kelly of Shreveport; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Bossier City Rose-Neath Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. tomorrow, with the Rev. Leon C. Scott, pastor of the Benton Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. William P. Fraser, pastor of First Methodist Church of Bossier City. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Benton Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be J. A. Dunnam, Jr., Tom Richardson, Ford Stinson, Robert Stinson, W. D. Smith, W. P. Belcher, Cyrus Zeigler and J. A. Edwards, Jr. --
