December 30, 1897 Page 3 Obituary. Died, at Cottage Grove, Bossier parish, La., December 24th, 1897, at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 26 days, Mr. J. L. C. Graham, son of L. C. and Margaret A. Smiley Graham. Born near Pleasant Hill, Ala., March 28th, 1832. Removed to Louisiana about 1850. Enlisted in 1862 in the Confederate service and was enrolled in Company B, 38th Louisiana. He was a gallant soldier and respected officer. Married Clara M. Dalrymple December 29th, 1864. After an illness of several weeks he died in peace, and in hope of a better world, through the mercy and grace of the Redeemer. He was buried on Christmas day in Cottage Grove cemetery.
