Kelly. Deceased was a most estimable woman. She was a native of Bossier Parish, and throughout her short life, gentleness, purity and affection were her characteristics. The writer knew her from her childhood, and this tribute is not a sterotyped one. Those who are pure in heart are blessed, holy writ says, and the consequences is that our deceased friend "has seen God." What a glorious consolation to loved ones left behind ! What an incentive for renewed endeavors to "meet her there." The bereaved husband and relatives here have the sincere sympathy of this community, and we know it is appriciated by the elders; as for the three little ones-the youngest but one month of age-we can say nothing except that "God tempers the wind to the shorn lambs." As we drop a tear, and think of the sad condition of the bereaved husband and motherless children, we can not tell which is the better off-the living or the dead ! -- (**My Note ~ Elizabeth Rebecca Ann "Lizzie" Durden Kelly was born 1857 in Bellevue, LA.
