Kilgore, 88, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday Oct. 24, 1982 at the Walker's Chapel Methodist Church, where he was a member. Rev. C.B. Kranow officated. Soloist was James Ray King. Burial was in Plain Dealing Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill. Mr. Kilgore died Friday Oct. 22, at the Community Hospital in Springhill, after a long illness. Mr. Kilgore, a native and former resident of Bossier Parish had made his home in Springhill for the last 5 years. He was a retired farmer, former member of the Bossier Parish School Board and Bossier Parish Police Jury. Survivors include his wife, Myrtice Matlock Kilgore of Springhill, one son Robert Lee Wells of Ruston, La.; 3 daughters: Helen Frye of Tuscaloose, Alabama, Bernice Decker of Dallas, Texas, and Beth Miller of Bayton, Texas. One sister, Seawilla King of Cotton Valley, 7 Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Grandchildren. Pallbearers were his nephews: Rupert Braley Kilgore, George Ronald Kilgore, Jerry Allen Kilgore, Homer Gerald Matlock, James Edgar Frazier Jr. and Allan Lamar Matlock. -- (**Note from submitter- Raiford Kilgore was son of Kate Anderson & James F.
