J. J. ROBERSON BURIED AT SALEM LAST WEDNESDAY Devoted Wife And Mother Dies After Long Illness Mrs. Helen Roberson, 83, of Plain Dealing, died at 4:30 p. m. Monday at a Shreveport hospital, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late J. J. Roberson, a prominent planter and life long resident of Bossier Parish. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. E. E. Eddy of Buckner, Ark., officiating. Norton funeral home was in charge of arrangements. She is survived by one brother, J. H. May, of Silverton, Texas, a sister, Mrs. Mittie Strange, Plain Dealing: seven daughters, Mrs. Zena Dodson, Mrs. Nora Farrington, Mrs. Lillie Matlock, Mrs. Pearly Blanton, and Mrs. Ola Holland, all of Plain Dealing; Mrs. Addie Adams of Calvert, Texas, and Mrs. Viola Holmes, of Hosston, and two sons, A. J. Roberosn of Edinburgh, Texas, and G. W. May of Plain Dealing. Mrs. Roberson was a devoted member of the Baptist Church and was known for her many deeds of kindness. She represented that high type of Southern womanhood and Bossier Parish has lost one of its noblest matrons with her passing. Her husband, J. J. Roberson, was very influential in North Bossier's history, and the names of these two sterling citizens will long be remembered.
