J. W. Stewart, 71 years old, a farmer of Haughton, died around 
7 PM Thursday after an illness of five days. Death was due to 
inflluenza. The funeral services were held at Haughton, Friday 
afternoon, conducted by the Rev. W. L. Stevens of First Baptist 
church of Haughton. Interment was in Fillmore cemetery. 
Stewart is survived by his widow; a son, Claude, of Shreveport; 
three daughters, Mrs. G. W. Vaughan and Mrs. Oliver Walker 
of Haughton and Mrs. Hugh Baker of Couchwood.
