Young Dies At His Home At Linton On Last Friday Night- The many friends of Reuben Warner Young, pioneer resident of the Linton Community, regret to learn of his passing. Mr. Young died at his home last Friday night, October 11th. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, with Rev. Harold Jones officiating. Interment was in Red River Cemetery, in the Linton Community. The last rites were under the direction of Wellman's Funeral Home. Mr. Young, who was 91 years of age at the time of his demise, was born in Barbour Co. Alabama, July 8, 1844. During most of the time since the spring of 1848 he has been a resident of Bossier Parish. He was a Confederate Veteran, having served in the 8th. Louisiana Calvary. During his service in the Battle of Mansfield he sustained a wound in the leg. He is survived by two sons, James R. Young, of Dodson, and Sanders Young of Benton; 13 Grandchildren and 25 Great-Grandchildren; two sisters, many nieces and nephews and a host of other loved ones and friends.
