All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** State of Louisiana Parish of Bossier 1 February, 1855 Know all men by these presents, that I, George Remer Young, a resident of said Parish and State, being fully aware of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, and now being of sound mind and disposing memory do make and ordain this as my last will and testament. First. I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Young, my daughter, the wife of Newsome A. Durden, my negro woman, Agg, aged about nineteen years of age and black complection and her child, Bob, aged about eighteeen months. Second. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Nancy Young, my negro woman, Lucy and her child Andy aged about three months. Third. I give and bequeth to my son, George R. Young, my negro girl, Ellen, aged abut thirteen and my negro boy, Joe, aged about eleven years. Fourth. I give and bequeath to my son, William M. Young, my negro girl, Sarah, aged about sixteen years and my boy, Berry, aged about eight years. Fifth. I give and bequeath to my son, James Ellis Young, my negro boy named, Rozburn, aged about three years. Sixth. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Mary Ann Gilly, all the balance of my property real and personal during her natural life-with ___ & ___ at my death. Seventh. I give and bequeath my home plantation to my said sons, George R. Young and William M. Young after the death of my wife, Mary Ann, to be divided by a line beginning at the Lake Bodcau at the upper ferry landing and running along the lane in front of my house in which I now live, straight with a ___ __ opposite line. Said George and William are to have the lot above said line and the ___ before the said line, a ___ may agree after the death of my said wife. Finally I appoint said Mary Ann Gilly to be executor of this my last will and testament. This will to be written at my dictation and read aloud in the pressence of me and in the pressence of the undersigned witnesses on this the first day of February 1855, declaring the same to be my last will and testament.
