McCLELLAND was horn January 8, 1886, in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Mr and Mrs. E. B. McClelland, the family being early settlers in the slate. C. A. attended the public schools of Pittsburg and also Curry University, and has been in the oil business since leaving school. During the year 1908 Mr. McClelland came to Louisiana, invested in real estate in Shreveport and has been very active in developing Industrial Prosperity. In fact, Mr. McClelland was one of the principal boosters whose courtesies and interest in it, caused the big L. H. Gilmer Company's Textile Mill to locate in Shreveport. He and his associates donated the land upon which the mill was built. Mr. McClelland doesn't cease after locating one industry here, hut goes right out after another that he feels would be of value to the growth of Shreveport. His industrial Vision and Public Spiritedness are making Mr. McClelland, indeed, a factor in the growth of Shreveport. Mr, McClelland is not the man whose nose is tied to an Industrial Idea only, but he is found assisting any movement redounding to the welfare of Greater Shreveport. He has also been quite active in fraternal work; is a member of the local Board of Governors of the Shreve Hospital, for Crippled Children located in Shreveport C. A. McClelland is the newly elected potentate of El Karabaeh Temple, Ancient and Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. who will direct the destinies of the Shreveport Temple during the coming year of 1928.
