S., Shreveport, was born in Corsicana, Tex., Dec. 12, 1883, and is a son of the late Dr. Charles Ratzburg, of Shreveport. The father was born in Prussia, Germany, and came to the United States at the age of 13 years. His education was completed in Pennsylvania schools, and then he studied dentistry at the Philadelphia dental college, and after graduating therefrom went to Texas where he began the practice of his profession and there remained until 1890, in which year he located in Shreveport, La., where for 12 years he continuously remained in active practice until he was called in death to the great beyond. He died in 1902, at the age of 53 years. Soon after he went to Texas, Dr. Charles Ratzburg married Miss Willie Betts, a native of Texas, and unto them were born the subject of this sketch, and a sister, Nellie, who is the wife of George S. Wing, of New York City. The mother is still living and spends her time mostly in Shreveport. Frederick Ratzburg was but 7 years of age when his parents removed from Texas to the city of Shreveport. After attending the public schools he entered the Louisiana state university, from which he obtained his degree of bachelor of arts in 1903. He then entered the University of Pennsylvania to study D. D. S., and immediately after he began the practice of dentistry in Shreveport, where he has built up a very desirable practice, and has won a place among the leading dentists of northern Louisiana. Dr. Ratzburg is president of the Fourth District Dental society, of which he was formerly both secretary and treasurer. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Dental society, and of the Delta Sigma Delta fraternity (dental), and he is a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a Noble of the Mystic Shrine. In 1912 Dr. Ratzburg married Miss Adelina Robinson, daughter of J. M. Robinson, of Bayou La Chute, La.
