     MARRIED:  On the 1est in this place by the Rev.  William H. TURNLEY, Mr.Cadwallader 
LEWIS to Miss Margaret CARR, eldest daughter of R. W. CARR, esq.
all of Shreveport.

     MARRIED:  On the 24th in Newton Co. Texas E. J. S. CATES, esq. of this parish
to Miss Sarah Ellen FORD, daughter of Dr. David FORD.
     
     DIED:  At the residence of her father in this parish, Miss Purella, daughter
of William A. POWELL, esq.
    
     DIED:  About 3 weeks since in New Orleans Hon.  Berry A. WILSON of Claiborne Parish.

     SUCCESSION:  of Dominique ROUGE in Parish of DeSoto.  Filed 6 Oct 1846.
     
     SUCCESSION:  of Henry SMITH of Sweetwater. deceased late of the state of Ala. 
Executor will expose to sale at public auction.  The sale will take place on
the plantation belonging to the estate 
of the deceased in country of Red River and state of Texas on 3rd (19th) Monday of Jan 1847.
     
     MARRIED:   On the 10th inst. by Rev.  Washington Rogers, Mr. L. G. SCOGIN to
Miss Araminta HOLLINSWORTH
 daughter of Mr. Jacob HOLLINSWORTH, all of this
parish.
