     Obituary--The Shreveport Journal, September 21, 1955, Miss Betty Alfred of Greenwood
dies, funeral Thrusday.  Funeral services for Miss Betty Alfred, 92, of Greenwood, who died
at 11:50 p. m. Tuesday in a local hospital after a long illness, will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday
at the Providence Baptist Church.
     The Rev. Leo Herron, pastor of the Providence Church will officiate, assisted by Rev. L. W. 
McReynolds, pastor of Greenwood Baptist Church.  Interment in Providence Cemetery near Spring
Ridge, will follow under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
     Bearers will be nephews, O. D. Alfred, J. B. Alfred, S. G. Alfred, W. G. Alfred, Milburne Alfred,
and C. A. Collum.  She is survived by a brother, Glenn Alfred of Shreveport and several nieces 
and nephews.
