     Obituary--The Shreveport Journal, November 24, 1979, Deaths, Oscar Alfred.  Services for Oscar Dewey 
Alfred, 82, of Route 2, Greenwood, were scheduled for 10 a. m. today at Rose-Neath Funeral
Home's Southside Chapel with the Rev. Steve Rainey, pastor of Providence Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be  in Providence Cemetery in Spring Ridge.  Mr. Alfred died at 11:45 p. m. Thursday at the
Willis-Knighton Medical Center after a brief Illness.  A native of Greenwood, Mr. Alfred worked at 
Louisiana Bank and Trust Co. for 52 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Providence
Baptist Church.
     Survivors include wife, Ocye Alfred of Greenwood; sons, Richard Alfred of Shreveport and Gerald
Alfred of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughters, Mrs. Vance Bailes and Mrs. Ted Haynes, both of 
Greenwood; sister, Mrs. B. B. Ellis of Shreveport; brother Schumpert Alfred of Bethany; and 11
grandchildren.
