Burial will be at Evans Richie Memorial Gardens, Vivian, LA. Mrs. Baker, a homemaker, died May 21, 2007 at Garden Park Nursing Home, Shreveport after a period of declining health. She was born March 2, 1915 in Arkadelphia, AR and was a resident of the Vivian/Oil City area since 1945 until recently when she resided in West Monroe and Shreveport, LA. She was a member of Vivian and Airline Church of Christ. She was a Sunday School teacher, former Cub Scout den mother and room mother for the Vivian School, was a former member of the Vivian Garden Club and a loving grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester E. Baker; 2 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her son and his wife Les Baker and Melinda of Ida, LA; daughters Patricia Kee of Russellville, AR, Mary (Betty) Coile and her husband Charles of Ennis, TX; sister Frances Kelly of Lancaster, TX; brother and his wife Frank and Goldie Noblit of Sulphur; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandson. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to St. Joseph's Hospice and to the staff at Garden Park Nursing Home for their loving care.
