Monday, March 15, 1993 at First United Methodist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana, preceded by a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Dr. Donald A. Webb, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana, Reverend Robert Potter, District Superintendent of the Shreveport District and Dr. D.L. Dykes, Pastor Emeritus of the First United Methodist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. Sunday, March 14, 1993 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Dr. Boddie died March 11, 1993, following a lengthy illness. He was born in League City, Texas and was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend and Mrs. David Baker Boddie. He received a B.A. Degree from Centenary College of Shreveport, a B.D. Degree from Duke University Divinity School, and a D.D.Degree from Centenary College in 1972. He was member of the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church from 1941 serving appointments at Felicity, New Orleans; Lisbon, Arizona, and Harmony Chapel; Springhill, Bunkie; Rayville; Crowley; Monroe, District Superintendent; First Methodist, Monroe; New Orleans-Slidell, District Superintendent; and Associate, First Methodist, Shreveport. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret Smith Boddie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David Clark of Natchitoches, Louisiana and Susan and Sam Davis of Dallas, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Deborah Boddie of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Harbin Boddie of Shreveport and Jack Boddie of Raleigh, North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Laurie and Cinda Clark and Erin and Matthew Davis. Pallbearers will be Dr. Byrl Moreland, Rev. Greg Davis, Rev. Jim Van Hook, Rev. Jerry Hilburn, Haller Jackson, John Vickers, Marvin Brossette and Jimmie Briggs. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Shreveport or the Scholarship Fund at Centenary College.
