Melton Prothro. Visitation will be at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home today from 12 p.m. until service time. She entered into rest on Thursday, September 14, 2000 at the Willis Knighton Hospital in Bossier City. Mrs. Harnage was a native of Union Springs, LA and resided in Haughton, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harnage. She was the loving mother and grandmother of daughter, Jo Anne Aaron of Rowlett, TX; son, Mike Harnage and wife Tuna of Baton Rouge, LA; and grandchildren, Jennifer Elaine Aaron, Joseph Michael Harnage and wife Fawnn and Jessica Anne Harnage. She is also survived by her sisters, Laura Jackson and husband, Bobby of Shreveport, LA and Ethelene Crittenden of Many, LA. Pallbearers will be friends and family members of Mrs. Harnage. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Goins. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue. Funeral home visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2000. Earl, Jr., passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday morning, September 15, 2000 at his home. He died after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Baremore was born August 28, 1935 in Shreveport, LA. He graduated from C. E. Byrd High School in 1953 and graduated from LSU-Baton Rouge in 1958. He has been a long time alumni supporter of both schools. After college, he served time in the United States Army. Following his service, he was the Operations Manager of the family owned trucking business, Pelican Trucking Company. His most proud accomplishments were while he was director of the Louisiana State Exhibit Building. During his time there, he developed several educational programs including Auntie Tilde, Charlie Bob and the Greening of The Trees. Earl, Jr. loved hunting and fishing with his many friends in Louisiana and especially in South Texas. He was grateful for the opportunities for comradery with those who know who they are. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl, Sr. and Mattie Saint Baremore; and his younger brother, Tommy Mac Baremore. Earl, Jr. is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carol Cook Baremore; daughters, Brandy Ann McIntyre and her husband, Michael and Katherine Hubbard and her husband, Gentry of Dallas, TX; and the love of his life, his grandson, Morgan Gentry Hubbard. He is also survived by his dear friend, Jack M. Johnston of Denver, CO. Pallbearers for the service will be J. Greg Bradley, J. Harmon Chandler, Donald W. Crow, Sidney K. Herold, Guy B. LeGendre and Gene B. Head of Houston, TX. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry P. Colvin of Augusta, MI. She will be remembered as a mother and homemaker. She was also a dedicated member of Gleaner's Sunday School Class at FUMC. Lailon was born in Boone County, Indiana on May 30, 1908 to Effie and Hollace Cunningham. Lailon and her husband, Marvin Smith, moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1950 from Western Springs, Illinois. Her husband of 63 years, Marvin A. Smith, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Leach (Bobby) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Judy Tyler (Gary) of Mobile, Alabama; son, M. Edward Smith (Susan) of Haughton, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A sister, Ruth Starkey of Lebanon, Indiana and a sister-in-law, Jean Isenhour, of San Diego, California also survive. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., September 16, 2000 at Couch Memorial Chapel, First United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dobson will be held Saturday, September 16 at 11 a.m. at Willow Point Baptist Church, 5500 South Lakeshore Dr., Shreveport, LA with Bro. Sonny Simpson, pastor, officiating, where Della was a member. Della went home to be with her Lord Thursday, September 14 after a life long battle with diabetes. She decided many years ago to donate her earthly body for research. Mrs. Dobson was born in DeQueen, AR June 6, 1923. She married Wayne F. Dobson in 1945 and after moving to the Shreveport area she entered the insurance industry, becoming active in the local and national Association of Insurance Women. Della has always been active in the service to her Lord both through her own work and her inspiration to others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Dobson; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith; brother, Otis B. Smith and sister, Nola Durham. She is survived by sisters, Ella Davis of Texarkana, AR and Pauline Cunningham of Granada Hills, CA and brother, Earl Smith of Salem, OR; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
