Officiating will be Rev. Bernard Kimble. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Rose- Neath's Southside Chapel. Mrs. Wood died Tuesday, May 30, 2000. She was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her father, Cameron Leroy Williams and nephew, Michael Tatum. Wilson Published on 05/01/2000 The Times--Shreveport, LA SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Murrell Hicks Wilson, 72, passed away in her daughters home on April 29, 2000. Graveside services will be held at Forest Park West on Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Doug Baker of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wilson was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School. Shre retired from Bell South CMR Dept. She served as secretary to "Parents without Partners" group and was a member of Louisiana Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a volunteer for many organizations throughout her life and made numerous donations. She was patriotic with a great appreciation for her country and the armed forces. Murrell, our beloved Momma, our Mother, our Memaw, our Aunt Murrell was so proud of all her family. She was an inspiration to us all. She always held her head high with dignity and grace. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and generous giving. She gave her love and support to all of us and many friends. She lived her life through her loved ones unselfishly and will remain with us always and forever. She was preceded in death by her husband, M/Sgt. Carl T. Wilson, Sr., and her parents Hugh "Sam" McKnight Hicks and Lena Murrell Hicks and sister, Shirley Vaughn. Survivors include her son, Carl (Tommy) Wilson, Jr. and wife, Cindy; two daughters, Shirley Wilkinson and husband, Robert and Ginger Wilson Bailey and husband, Howard; 8 grandchildren, Dr. Nancy Wilkinson, Carla Wilkinson, David Wilkinson, Trip Bailey, Courtney Bailey, Angela Koranda, Celeste Wilson and Rebecca Wilson; one great grandchild, Allahna Sullivan; Nieces, Lynda Vaughn and Lisa Patrick, nephew Russell Patrick and her special brother Stan Vaughn. He special sister, Margie Dunn and husband, Hollis Dunn and numerous nieces and nephews.
