Officiating will be Rev. Donny Nedd, pastor of McDonalds United Methodist Church, Keithville, LA. Burial will be in Round Grove Cemetery, off David Raines Road, Shreveport. Funeral home visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2000. Mr. Kelly, a life long resident of Shreveport, died suddenly Saturday, August 26, 2000 at his home. Survivors are Mary Robinson, Shreveport, LA; sons, Jerry Kelly, Shreveport, Ivan Ray Kelly, Jon Kelly, Joe Kelly, Dennis Kelly all of Atlanta, GA; Darien, Farien, Kenji Powell of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Veronica Kelly-Lewis and Cloteal Kelly both of Atlanta, GA; sister, Margaret Brooks, Shreveport; brother, George I. Kelly, Shreveport; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Walter Williams, Joe Lee, Jesse Hopkins, Carlos Woods, Elijah Brooks and Claudell Hopkins. ************************************************************ The Times - Shreveport, LA - Published on 09/01/2000 Robert Ambler Caskie SHREVEPORT, LA - Services will be conducted for Robert Ambler Caskie, retired petroleum geologist, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 2, 2000 at 2 p.m. Officiating the service will be Rev. Gene Nix of Shreve City Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Caskie entered into rest on August 29, 2000 at the Grace Home after a long illness. He was born on December 14, 1922 in Proffit, VA. He received his early education in Proffit and in 1947 entered the University of Virginia where he received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in geology. He was on the Dean's List numerous times and was an assistant instructor for two years. Memberships in his career included the Shreveport Geological Society, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Shreveport Petroleum Data Association, the National Association of Royalty Owners and the Petroleum Club of Shreveport. He was also a registered geologist in the State of Arkansas. During his career he was employed as a geologist for Lion Oil Co. of El Dorado, AR; Olin Oil and Gas and was co-owner of William's Drilling Co. Thru the 60's he was with Creslenn Oil Co. and was in charge of the Shreveport District covering exploration activities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and East Texas. Upon his retirement he was district exploration manager for Florida Exploration Co. for North Louisiana and South Arkansas. He served in the U. S. Army Air Force where his specialty was power turret and gunsight mechanic. He received the American Theater Service Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. Mr. Caskie was preceded in death by his father, Jacquelin Ambler Caskie and his mother, Margaret Minor Caskie; three brothers, John, Alexander and Dabney. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Jacquelin Guillot and husband, Ronnie; Elizabeth Ferguson and husband, Gale; son, Robert E. Caskie; step-daughters, Susan Herrington and husband, Bob, Donna Alexander; stepson, Duane Bryant and wife, Tammy; sisters, Jacquelin Burns and husband Jim and Margie Freund and husband Rudie; sixteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Robert Holladay, Dr. Calvin Alexander and to the Grace Home for all of their love, care, and support. Moser SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Raymond "Ray" E. Moser, Msgt. USAF Retired, 75, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2000 at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, LA with military rites conducted by the BAFB Honor Guard. Officiating will be Father Pike Thomas, pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church. The family will receive friends, Friday, September 1, from 5:30 p.m. til 7:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel with a vigil service from 6:30 p.m. til 7 p.m. Mr. Moser passed away on Monday, August 28, 2000 in Shreveport, LA from complications of Diabetes and heart disease. He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, a former resident of Bossier City for 40 years and a resident of Shreveport for the past year. He was a retired Msgt. from USAF and retired Registered Nurse. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mae Moser of CA; two brothers, Arthur Moser from OH and Ralph Moser from CA and 1 sister, Dorothy from CA. He is survived by his wife, Helen Harris Moser; one daughter, Margaret "Maggie" Moser Mathis and husband, Tim; one young grandson, Phillip James Mathis all of Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law Elvie Moser of Cincinnati, OH and several loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be the Air Force Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Services will be conducted by Monsignor Murray Clayton. Mrs. Robbins was a native of Srpinghill, Louisiana, born August 14, 1938. She had been a resident of Shreveport since 1975. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mooney and her sisters, Claudette and Patty Jo. She is survived by her longtime companion Mike Jackson of Shreveport. Also by her daughters, Kimberly A. Robbins and Sheila Bagley both of Madison, WI; by her son, Marc A. Robbins and her grandchildren, Phillip E. Robbins and Samantha J. Robbins all of Caddo, OK. Mrs. Robbins was well known by many in the food service industry across the Ark-La-Tex from her years with Bana Commerical Kitchens and Buckelew's. Harris SHREVEPORT, LA - Brother Charles A. Harris was born March 14, 1914 to the late Tressie Griffith and Ambrose Harris in Bernice, Louisiana. He departed this life on August 25, 2000 at Doctor's Hospital. He confessed to Christ at an early age in Bernice, LA and later moved to Shreveport where he later joined Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend L. D. Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Herbert and Herman Harris. Charles Harris leaves to cherish is fond memories, his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Margorie Harris; one loving son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Earnestine M. Harris; one sister, Betty Murray of Dallas, TX; three granddaughters and their husbands; five grandsons and their wives; a former daughter-in-law, Mary Harris; 20 great grands; host of great, great grands, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2000 in the Chapel of J. S. Williams Funeral Home. Rev. C. L. Hicks, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.
