Monroe Rites Here Today Funeral services for Delmar L. Monroe, 47, of 1843 Dolphine St., co-owner of Monroe Construction Co. of Bossier City, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday at Schumpert Sanitarium of a heart attack, were to be held at 2:30 p.m. today in the Rose-Neath Chapel. The rites were to be conducted by the Rev. Stanley Jordan, pastor of the Queensborough Baptist Church. Interment was to be in Forest Park. Pallbearers are John Dixon, M. J. Gulledge, Ashton Glassell, H.M. Milkey, Thomas J. Downs and W. J. Howard. Honorary pallbearers are employees of the Monroe Construction Co. Mr. Monroe was a native of Melder, and had lived in Shreveport for the past fourteen years. He moved here from Kansas City, MO. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Delmar L. Monroe Jr., and William Charles Monroe, both of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. R.H. Burchette of Oxnard Calif., Miss Alice Monroe and Miss Kathryn Marie Monroe, both of Shreveport. Three brothers G.R. and W.J. Monroe, both of Shreveport, and Cecil Monroe of Corbin; his father, T.J. Monroe of Picayune, Miss and a sister, Mrs. Edwin Byrd of Leesville.
