Officiating will be Rev. Cleo Paul. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery. Mr. Green, a native and lifelong resident of Springhill, passed away suddenly Friday, Oct. 23, 1998 in Springhill. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and a salesman for Springhill Motors for 47 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army and a member of the American Legion Banks-Strong, Post No. 166. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Mallard Green on November 25, 1949, and Marshall Green on March 16, 1987; a sister, Lorene G. Thompson on January 20, 1998. He is survived by his wife, with whom he had celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary on March 22, 1998, Mareene Powell Green; a daughter, Sharon G. Jeter of Springhill; a son, Elston Green of Ashdown, AR; brother, Lindy Green of Springhill; grandchildren, Coty Jeter, Lee Jameson Jeter, Monica Green, and Matthew Green and five nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Hines, Bill Carter, James Colvin, L. R. "Buddy" Wright, George Taylor, Leland Covington, Bob Colvin and Tylon Blanton. Honorary pallbearers will be M. C. Colvin, James Avery, James Canterbury, Leon Gary, Olan Mills, Howard Morgan, Johnny Smith, Jack Miears, Joe Miears, and Herman Tyler.
