MARY RICE HAMPTON

     

Services for Mary Rice Hampton, 87, will be held ar 2:30 p.m. on

Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.  Officiating

will be Dr. Bob Brewer, assisted by Jerry Hodge and Bill Northam.  Burial

will be at Forest Park West Cemetery.



Mrs. Hampton, a homemaker, was born in Rocky Branch, TX and has resided in

Shreveport for 62 years.  She attended North Texas State Teachers College

in Commerce, TX.  She passed away on Monday, Nov. 9, 1998.

     

She was preceded in death by her husband Horace Edward Hampton; son Dr.

Ronny Hampton; parents Geroge Milton Rice and Era Russell Rice; sisters

Mattie Lou Ragland, Sybil Northam, Woodie Simms and Hazel Fox.

     

She is survived by her daughter, SuZanne Hampton Pace and husband, Tom

Pace of Shreveport, LA; daughter-in-law Jerry Lasiter Hampton of Dallas,

TX; seven grandchildren Mary Ann Hampton Chapel of Dallas, TX, Kathryn

Hampton of Los Angeles, CA, Karen Hampton of Dallas, TX, Sharon Hampton of

Abilene, TX, Kyle Stone of Dallas, TX, Heidi Stone and Valarie Lynn Pace

Schmale both of Shreveport, LA and one great-granddaughter Claire Chapel of

Dallase, TX.  Pallbearers will be Richard Northam, Kyle Stone, Bert

Schmale, Jason Cram, Robert Chapel, Reggie Reynolds and Joe Huffman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Woolfolk, Billy Nance, Morris Tripitz,

Billy Grisham and Dr. Billy Bickham.
