Graveside service for Clifton “Bert” Hawthorne, 67 of Bossier City, formerly of
Winnsboro will be held at 12 Noon Friday, December 5, 2008 at Ogden Cemetery in
Liddieville. Rev. Mark Powell will be officiating the service. Visitation will
be at Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro Friday from 9-11:30 AM.

He was born to Clifton Isaac and Bessie Louise Davis Hawthorne on May 22, 1941
in Winnsboro and passed from this life Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at his residence.

Bert worked as a chef in the offshore oil industry, and later became a crossing
guard, who was loved and respected by so many school children. He had a great
love for his family including his nieces and nephews and his cats.

He is survived by his brother Ronnie R. Hawthorne of Goodyear, AZ; sister Patsy
Dayton of Bossier City; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Jon Dayton, Joshua, Dayton, Larry Dayton, and Tyler Dayton.

Honorary pallbearers will be his great nephews Austin, Chance, and Collin.
