Joiner, 55, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2000 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Don Woodard, pastor of First Baptist Church of Ringgold, LA. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Friday, October 6, 2000 at the funeral home. Mr. Joiner was born in Lake City, SC and had resided in Keithville, LA for nine years. He was a former resident of Shreveport, LA. Mr. Joiner was an industrial engineer for Beaird Industries and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He served our country in the U. S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Mary Faye B. Joiner; son, Jared B. Joiner; mother, Elsie Prothro and husband, C. W.; father, Jesse Joiner and wife, Betty; step-father, Leonard Woodard, SR.; sisters, Kay Chappel and husband, Jim and Trisha Taylor and husband, Bruce; brothers, Billy Joiner and wife, Darcy, and Leonard Woodard, Jr. and wife, Alice; sister-in-law, Kathy Conley, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials may be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 2408 East 81st Street, Suite 100, Tulsa, OK 74137. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Jerry's co-workers at Beaird Industries for their tremendous support during his illness, to Dr. Greffe and his staff at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, OK, Hospice Managed Care Nurses Nora, Faye, and Ruby and the staff at Willis-Knighton Pierremont for their exceptional care and compassion.
