  CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Services for Jean Ragon, 85, 

will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, July 31, 1999, at Rose-Neath's 

Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Crawford Williams. 

Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery.



  The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Friday, July 30, 

1999, at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.



  Mrs. Ragon died in her daughter's home in Charlottesville, 

VA on Tuesday, July 27, 1999. She was born in Collins, MS 

and was a resident of Charlottesville, VA for 2 years.



  Mrs. Jean Ragon "Nene" lived in Shreveport, LA for over 

seventy years and attended Ingleside Baptist Church. She 

was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.



  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Ragon.



	Survivors include daughter, Donna Ragon Battenfield and 

husband, Charles of Charlottesville, VA; three grandchildren, 

Delise Battenfield Dickard, Leslie Battenfield McCluskie, and 

Paul Robert Battenfield; four great-grandchildren, Ragon Dickard, 

Kenna Dickard, Nora "Lane" Dickard, and Daniel McCluskie.



  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made 

to the Louisiana Association of the Blind or to St. Jude Children's 

Hospital.
