She was 78. Born in Athens, a resident of Jackson and a former resident of Oil City. Religious service in the southside chapel at 11:30am Wednesday, conducted by Rev. Jack Fussell, pastor of First Assembly of God in Vivian, of which she was a member. Burial in Forrest Park West in Shreveport. She is survived by daughters, Ethel Courtney of Vivian, Melisha Johnson of Baton Rouge, Becky Hale and husband Damon Hale of Ferriday, and Joanna Jones of Vivian. Sons, Thomas A. and wife Kim Graves Johnson of Shreveport and James A. Johnson III and wife Pam Duncan Johnson of Jackson. 13 grandchildren and 20 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James A. Johnson, D.C. parents, WIlliam Marion and Velma Joannie Bias Emanuel; sisters, Grace Hunter, Carrie Bell DelRio, and Fannie Mae Clark; brothers, Marcus Emanuel, John T. Emanuel and Clarence Emanuel; grandson, Robert Welch Jr.; and son in law, Patrick D. Wilkins. Pallbearers will be Jamie Johnson, David P. Wilkins, Lance M. WIlkins, Pat D. Wilkins, Michael Johnson and Jason W. Ganaway.
