"Grandfather" was a gentle and loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. He had a great love for animals. We will miss his winning smile and bear hugs! He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. It took very little to bring him great joy. He loved to go anywhere in the car, especially with his son-in-law, Ken. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the entire staff at Glen Oaks Retirement Home, especially Mattie, who kept him supplied with ice cream whenever he wanted it; as well as Linda McWaters, Candace Bowlin, Katherine Gullet, the nurses and CNA's who took such good care of him. Special thanks to Jackie and Margie. We would also like to thanks Southfield Barber Shop for the respect and kindness they always showed him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Southfield School, 1100 Southfield Rd., 71106 or Glen Oaks Retirement Home, 1524 Glen Oak Place, 71103.
