Officiating will be Reverend Eric McQuitty. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 1994 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will gather at the home of Elaine Nagel. Mrs. Martin passed away Wednesday, June 1, 1994 after a lengthy illness. She was born Lois Marie Dodd in crescent, Oklahoma on August 15, 1917. she was the loving wife to Delmar Linton (Bud) Monroe who preceded her in death in 1960. from this union there were five children, Alice Ann Monroe preceding her mother in death. Survivors included her daughter, R. Elaine Nagel her husband, Sid of Shreveport; son Delmar Linton (Bo) Monroe Jr. and his wife Margaret of Bossier; William Charles (Bill) Monroe his wife Jan of Dallas Texas; and daughter Kathryn Marie (Kathy) Covington and husband Robert of Shreveport. She had nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren from Shreveport, Dallas and California. She married John McDade Martin who also preceded her in death and was a loving husband for more than 20 years. Mrs. Martin was Past Grand Coordinator and Mother Advisor for Shreveport Assembly #14, Order of Rainbow for Girls, past President of Mithra Grotto Ladies Auxiliary, past President of PTA Judson Street Elementary School and Lakeshore Junior High, a member of the Elks auxiliary, Ladies Oriental shrine, Order of Eastern Star and North Highlands Woman's Club. Her family would like to remember her with a dance in her heart. Pallbearers will be Jake Bickham, Roger Britton, Tom Dufrene, Jack Festervan, Digger O'Dell and Billy Spencer. The family would like to express a very special thanks to dr. Scott Mighell, dr. Kenneth Manas, Schumpert Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, and special friends, Evelyn Snow and Lois Goodwine.
