Haskin Moore died at Schumpert Medical Center on Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, after a brief illness. A family hour will be 6-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Funeral Home, located at 2200 Laurel St., Shreveport. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998 at New Zion C.M.E. Church, 1240 Linton Road, Benton, LA. Burial will follow at the Rock Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Plain Dealing, LA. Hattie Mae Haskin was born in Plain Dealing, LA. She was the daughter of Ben and Bettie Haskin, both of Plain Dealing, LA. She was educated in the Bossier Parish Schools. She was a graduate of Grambling State University, Grambling, LA, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She retired from the Bossier Parish School System in 1978. She was a faithful member of Greater New Zion Baptist Church of Benton, LA. Mrs. Moore was also a member of the Lily of the Valley Society and the Eastern Stars. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers. She married Henry Moore, Sr. of Ringgold, LA on February 16, 1942. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1968. They were the parents of Mary Louise Moore Kidd (James) of Longview, TX; Henry Moore, Jr. (Lou Ida) of Benton, LA; and Michael Moore (Sherri) of Marshall, TX. She was the grandmother of Leisha M. Kidd of Longview, TX; Lori K. Caesar (Stacy) of Lake Charles, LA; Lane Kidd of U. S. Navy, Japan; Shane Moore of Benton, LA; and Try and Travis Moore both of Marshall, TX. She was the great-grandmother of NaShara Moore, Keelan Pryor and Alyssa Singleton. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to family and friends in the Benton community.
