Bill had resided in O'Brien for the last 25 years. Prior to that his residence had been West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born August 19, 1935, the son of the late Thomas Newton Dickey, Sr. and Mary Matilda Delaney of Oil City, Louisiana. He had been employed as a service technician for the mobile homes prior to his being disabled in 1991. Bill is loved and survived by his wife Joyce Howard Dickey, O'Brien; one son, Thomas Dickey, O'Brien, and 4 daughters; Betty Dillinger of Keller, Texas, Cynthia Kittle of O'Brien, Florida, Mary Anne Gilmer of Lake City, Florida and Margaret O'Connor of Melbourne, Florida. He is also survived by one brother, Thomas N. Dickey, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana and two sisters, Linda Crnkovic of Shreveport, Louisiana and Virginia Gilliland of Okeechobee, Florida. Eight grandchildren were fortunate to call Popa Bill their own. They are: Mathew Estes, Megan Estes, Amanda Dillinger, Jared Gilmer, Amy Kittle, Alex Gilmer, Eric O'Connor, and Jacob O'Connor.
