Pilgrim Baptist Church, 304 Gregg Street, Wednesday, March 26, 1969 1:00 P.M., Reverend H.F. Smith, Pastor Brother Jarrett Player was born 1879 in Bossier Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of Mr. Lawson Player and Mrs. Hanner Player. He departed from life Thursday, March 20, 1969 between 11:00 P.M. and 12:00 A.M., fourteen days after his 90th birthday. Brother Player joined the Evergreen Baptist Church at an early age. He was married to Miss Netter Cade. To that union 4 children were born: Mrs. Alberta Stephens, Mrs. Annie Stephens, Mr. James Player and Mrs. Netter Taylor Later they moved to Houston, TX and united with the New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and was a faithful member under Pastor Rev. Taylor and Rev. Smith His survivors are his wife: His wife, Mrs. Netter Player, 4 children, 3 brothers; Rev. Benny Player, Deacon Johnny Player, and Bro. Robert Player. Two sisters: Mrs. Morella Stephens and Mrs. Carrie Bradley. 21 Grandchildren, 88 Great-Grandchildren, 11 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
