Quin - Shreveport Services for Mrs. Rose R. Quin, 92, of Shreveport will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Wellman Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Fred Schwendimann, Associates Pastor at Noel Memorial United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial - Forest Park. Visitation: 10 a.m. Friday October 23 until service time, Saturday at Wellman's. She died Wed. Oct 21, 1981 at Midway Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. Mrs. Quin, born in Bellview, La., and a life long resident of Shreveport, had worked in the Classified Dept. at the Shreveport Times. She was a member at Noel Memorial United Methodist Church, where she had been a soloist for the church, and sang for the Four Square Bible Class for the 9:30 Broadcast over Station KRMD. Mrs. Quin's father, Joseph McAfee Yates, was a cousin of Jefferson Davis, and Mrs. Quin was descended from the man known as Cimarron. She is survived by two sons, James L. Quin of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Joseph L. Clawson of Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Olive (Smidge) Lewis of Bossier City, La., and Mrs. Joy L. Hiers of Shreveport, La.; one sister, Minnie Hanks of Holdenville, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Pollbearers will be grandsons, Don Coleman, Jr., John O. Coleman, Kirk W. Coleman, T.M. Brooks, Kenneth L. Brooks, and Robert S. Scott.
