Mr. Roppolo died at 6 a.m. Sunday in Schumpert Medical Center after a short illness. The Palermo, Italy native had lived in Shreveport 70 years. He was a retired merchant and a member of St. John Berchmans Cocathedral. Survivors: 5 daughters, Mrs. Mary Richardson, Mrs. Tony J. Defatta, Mrs. A. C. Cefalu, and Mrs. George Como, all of Shreveport, and Mrs. Neil J. Huckabay of Bossier City; 5 sons, Joseph P. Roppolo, Angelo Roppolo, Leon Roppolo, Nickey J. Roppolo, and Carlo P. Roppolo Jr., all of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. Philip Russo of Long Island, NY; 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Rev. George Hamilton officiating. Buriel: Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Terry C. Como, Carl M. Richardson, A. Gerard Defatta, A. David Cefalu, Joseph Gregory Roppolo, James Neil Huckabay, and Rickey D. Roppolo. All are Mr. Roppolo's grandsons.
