OBITUARY: Buford "Pete" Rowell
CASTOR, LA - Services for Buford "Pete" Rowell, 61, will be held 
at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Rockett Funeral Home Chapel 
in Ringgold, LA with Rev. Terry Barnard officiating. Burial will be
in Social Springs Cemetery in Ringgold, LA.  Visitation will begin 
at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at Rockett Funeral Home. Mr. Rowell
was born October 28, 1941 in Bienville Parish, LA and passed away 
June 29, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Byrd Rowell;
his parents, R. C. "Tobe" and Frankie Rowell; and one brother, Carl 
Franklin Rowell.  Survivors are one son, Thomas Robert "Bob" Rowell of
Castor, LA; daughter, Rose Warren and her husband, Barry of Daphne, AL;
two brothers, Harold Rowell and his wife, Mary of Ringgold, LA and 
Lamar Rowell and his wife, Debbie of Ringgold, LA; six sisters, 
Lucille Henley and her husband, Paul of Shreveport, LA, Cindy Lumpkin 
of Shreveport, LA, Cathy Warner of Kenner, LA, Marcia Kay and her 
husband, Wayne of Ringgold, LA, Marilyn Hoskins of Longview, TX and 
Debi Grafton and her husband, Tom of Shreveport, LA; two grandchildren,
Zachary Hickman and Catherine Bray Warren both of Daphne, AL; and a 
host of other relatives and friends.  Pallbearers will be Rodney Rowell
, David Henley, Harold Rowell, Jr., Tobey White, Marty Lumpkin, Tommy 
Lumpkin, Michael Warner and Keith Hammett.   The family would like to
express a special thanks to the following men who will serve as 
honorary pallbearers for all their loving help and support: Tony 
McCarthy, Ray Turner, Mike Bute and Wayne Kay. The family would also 
like to thank the doctors and staff of Ringgold Nurse Care Center, 
Advantage Home Health, Cornerstone Rehab, and Christus Coushatta

(NOTE: Pete ROWELL was the son of Robert Carl "Tobe" ROWELL (1912-1984)
and Frankie C. MARTIN (1918-2001), grandson of Johnny Carl ROWELL 
(1886-1958) and Sarah Jane BASINGER (1893-1963), and great-grandson of
Caleb M. ROWELL (1833-1914) and Caroline Delaney RUSTON (1849-1923).
Caleb left Wilcox County AL and settled in Old Sparta, Bienville Parish
LA about 1861).
