Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Vernon Liddle and Rev. Bob Hudson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday August 15, 2003 at the funeral home. Mrs. Rowell, a native of Marysville, TX and longtime resident of Shreveport, LA, passed away Wednesday August 13, 2003 in Ruston, LA. She was a member of Stonewall Southern Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alton Rowell, Sr. Mrs. Rowell is survived by her son, Rev. Bill Rowell, Jr. and wife Betty of Kenner, LA; daughter, Vicki Curry and husband J.P. of Arcadia, LA; sisters, Ola Welch and Gladys Thetford both of Gainesville, TX and Ruby Pearson of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Adena Rowell, Morgan Rowell, and Jennifer Stokes; three great grandchildren, Dax and Drake Rowell and Ian Stokes. Pallbearers will be J.P. Curry, Steve Tulloh, Morgan Rowell, C.W. Rowell, Jr., James Pearson and Robby Mitchell. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the National Stroke Association or to the church of the donor's choice.Forest Park Funeral Home. (NOTE: Her Husband, William Alton ROWELL Sr, was the son of Benjamin Clyde ROWELL (1893-1968) and Jennie Abitha HINTON (1900-1970), the grandson of Caleb M. ROWELL (1833-1914) and Caroline RUSTON (1849-1923). Caleb left Wilcox County AL and settled in Old Sparta, Bienville Parish LA in about 1861.)
